The therapist/mental health clinician works directly with clients to educate and facilitate healing. They offer psychoeducation, teach coping skills, and more than anything else, support and empower the client to discover solutions in their life. Therapists are able to organize their own schedules provided they maintain their contracted hours. The ideal candidate will be an empathic listener, possess superior client interview, coaching and problem solving skills, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a therapeutic team.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy: Required
Active and Free LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT Licensure in Florida: Required
Ability to pass a Level One background check: Required
Two Professional References: Required
Skills Needed
Client Assessment & Treatment
- Accurate assessment of client symptoms and needs
- Knowledge of appropriate treatment modalities for the client
- Remain within “scope of practice”
Documentation and Knowledge
- Ability to maintain accurate and clear notes
- Comfortable with a “non-pathologizing” approach to therapy while maintaining a vast knowledge of mental health disorders
- Submit timely and accurate notes within 24 hours of completed service and no later than last day of work week
Communication and Crisis Intervention
- Exquisite verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Proficiency and ease with deescalation techniques for crisis intervention
- Keep clients informed about any required paperwork, upcoming appointments, or practice policies
Collaboration with Other Providers
- Collaborate with the clients providers when needed
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client care when necessary
Maintaining Compliance and Ethical Standards
- Ensure all interactions comply with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
- Adhere to the ethical standards and policies set by the practice and any relevant professional organizations.
Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations is crucial in handling sensitive client information.
